You need to use the dmidecode command. It is a command line tool for depositing a computer’s DMI (SMBIOS) table contents in a human-readable format.
dmidecode command works on FreeBSD/OpenBSD and other Unix-like operating systems too.
The procedure is as follows:
- Open the terminal application by pressing ctrl+alt+t
- Type the following command as a root user.
- sudo dmidecode -t system-serial-number.
The dmidecode command can be used with a combination of other symbols to find out more details about the system.
The syntax is
